JPEC rate reduction in effect since October 2000.

Energy Charge Rate Reduction:
The monthly energy billing amount computed under each of the rate schedules is estimated to be reduced by about 2.04% for rural customers. All reductions shall be before application of school tax, sales tax, franchise tax and landfill fee or other similar items.

This Cost Reduction Adjustment (CRA) shall be terminated at such time that all of the Big Rivers CRA credit to be received by the Cooperative has been passed through to the Cooperative's consumers. The CRA may be terminated or modified prior to receiving the last credit from Big Rivers such that the cumulative amount credited to the Cooperative's customers will not exceed the cumulative amount credited by Big Rivers. The CRA has been approved by the Kentucky Public Serivce Commission.

Renewable Energy:
JPEC offers memebers the option to purchase renewable energy as part of their overall electric use portfolio.  Renewable energy must be purchased in 100 kWh blocks.  Renewable energy is an additional $0.0365 per kWh therefore, each 100 kWh block will add $3.65 to members' bills.  Members choosing to have a portion of their electricity to be generated from renewable resources, must commit to the program for one year.   For more information on renewable energy, contact a JPEC customer service representative.

*The Federal Goverment no longer allows the manufacture of ballasts for mercury vapor lights.

Therefore, JPEC will no longer offer mercury vapor lights for new installation.

Existing lights will still be charged at the appropriate rate and continue to be serviced as long as parts are available.

Existing mercury vapor lights that need repair will be replaced with high-pressure sodium lights in the event replacement parts are not available.
