Notice of filing to change Demand Side Management programs with KPSC

On July 6, 2018, Jackson Purchase Energy Corporation (“Jackson Purchase”), in a Joint Filing with Big Rivers Electric Corporation (“Big Rivers”) and Meade County Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation (“Meade County”) filed proposed changes to its tariff sheets for its Demand-Side Management programs only with the Kentucky Public Service Commission (“Commission”).  Those revised sheets have an issue date of July 6, 2018, and an effective date of August 6, 2018.  Essentially, Jackson Purchase immediately will discontinue eight of those programs, and will insert the phrase “up to” prior to the monetary incentives in the 3 remaining programs so that Jackson Purchase may phase-out those programs in 2019.  A copy of this filing is available for inspection at Jackson Purchase’s offices at 2900 Irvin Cobb Drive, Paducah, Kentucky.  A copy of the filing may also be examined at the Commission’s offices at 211 Sower Boulevard in Frankfort, Kentucky during normal business hours or on the Commission’s website at  Anyone wishing to file comments may do by mailing them to the Commission at the address noted above using zip code 40601.  Anyone wishing to intervene must file a written request to do so at the same address, and must do so within 30 days of the last publication of this notice.

PSC Sets Interest Rate for Member Deposits

The Kentucky Public Service Commission (PSC), in accordance with revisions made to KRS 278.460 in 2012, has calculated the annual interest rate to be paid on member deposits for the upcoming year.

The statute requires the PSC to calculate the interest rate on an annual basis by averaging the one-year constant maturity treasury rate from September, October and November of each year.

Using this data the PSC has calculated an interest rate of 1.41 percent to be paid on member deposits for the 2018 calendar year, effective January 1, 2018.

The revised statute, frequently asked questions and historical information may be found at
