JPEC Board Officer Re-elected

June 17, 2013

Jackson Purchase Energy Corp. had a large turnout of membership for its annual member-owner meeting on June 13, with 441 registered members and their families accounting for a total estimated attendance of 750.

The crowd nearly filled the main floor of the Luther F. Carson Four Rivers Center in downtown Paducah.

During the business meeting, the members approved the 2012 minutes and financial statement as presented by Board Chair Gary Joiner, and also heard the co-op manager’s report from Chief Executive Officer Kelly Nuckols. In addition, board Vice Chair Jack Marshall provided a report on energy efficiency programs offered by JPEC, and directors Erick Harris and Lee Bearden recognized 10 scholarship recipients and two delegates to the annual Youth Tour sponsored by KAEC and JPEC.

In a special meeting immediately following the member meeting, the JPEC Board of Directors re-elected officers to serve one-year terms. Officers re-elected were Gary Joiner, Chair; Jack Marshall, Vice Chair; and Wayne Elliott, Secretary/Treasurer. Other members of the board are Lee Bearden, Dr. Ivus Crouch, Erick Harris, and William Birney.

JPEC serves approximately 30,000 members in portions of six western Kentucky counties—McCracken, Livingston, Marshall, Ballard, Graves and Carlisle. The co-op is in its 76th year of operation.
