Overnight Power Outage Planned for 800 Livingston County JPEC Members Saturday

May 12, 2017

Paducah, Ky. – Members of Jackson Purchase Energy Corporation in North Livingston County will experience two upcoming planned power outages so that the cooperative’s wholesale power provider, Big Rivers Electric Corporation, can perform regular maintenance on the electric system’s infrastructure.

The first outage will occur Saturday morning, May 13, beginning at midnight. It will affect approximately 800 members.  All members who receive power from the cooperative’s Joy substation and those members who receive power from the Hampton circuit out of the Burna substation will experience the interruption.  The affected area includes River Road, Cave Springs Road, Hampton-Joy Road, and Lola Road.

The cooperative will take another outage to complete the maintenance the following weekend, Sunday morning, May 21. That outage will also begin at midnight, affecting the same area.

Cooperative officials expect each outage to last only a few hours with work wrapping up around 4:00 am.

“We appreciate our members’ patience as this much-needed maintenance work is completed,” said President and CEO Dennis Cannon.

JPEC members who have questions about the planned outages are encouraged to call the cooperative’s office at 270-442-7321 or 800-633-4044.
