Administrative Services Assistant

JPEC seeks an administrative services assistant to join our team. He/she will provide administrative and technical support to the Manger of Human Resources & Administrative Services and other key staff. Must be able to provide high level administrative/clerical assistance. Must have ability to recognize errors in numbers, spelling, punctuation, written materials, charts, or tables. Must have the ability to create a computerized database and spreadsheet. Will be responsible for maintaining corporate and safety records. Will assist with and maintain corporate DOT documentation. Will purchase and/or assist in purchasing of office supplies and will maintain an adequate stock of supplies for employee use.  Must serve as relief dispatcher and relief to receptionist (ability to operate a switchboard beneficial). Will make travel accommodations and assist with meetings and other functions. Will assist with annual meeting, trainings, and youth programs. 

Must carry out instructions, meet work schedules, and exchange work information as necessary to expedite workflow.  Must be able to sit for an extended period of time. Must operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other office equipment regularly. Must be able to regularly lift and carries objects weighing up to 10 pounds, while occasionally lifting objects weighing over 10 pounds. Must regularly bend, stoop, and reach with arms.  Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to interact with employees, members, vendors, and general public.  Must recognize matters of confidential nature and keep them confidential. Must work overtime when necessary including evenings, weekends, holidays, and during emergencies.  Must be able to travel overnight and participate in designated training programs.  Must maintain good attendance and punctuality record.  Successful candidate must live within a 30-minute drive to JPEC and possess a valid driver’s license.

The ideal candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s degree or technical certification in secretarial sciences, business or equivalent preferred.  Must have two to four years administrative/secretarial or clerical experience.

Human Resources Assistant

JPEC seeks a human resources assistant to join our team. He/she will provide specialized administrative assistance to the Manger of Human Resources & Administrative Services. Will perform complex administrative duties following established procedures.  Will assist in communicating benefit programs and services.  Will assist with medical benefits, pension plan benefits, new hire orientation, open enrollment, FMLA, Worker’s Compensation, DOT physical recertifications, MVR reviews, newsletters, etc. Will assist with annual meeting, travel arrangements, trainings, youth programs, meetings, and other functions. The ideal candidate must have Associate’s degree in human resources administration, office administration, or equivalent.  A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.  Must have at least four years of experience in an office setting, preferably with one to two years in human resources and employee benefits.
