Executive Assistant

Seeking an Executive Assistant to the President & CEO. An associate’s degree in business, office administration or equivalent preferred. Must have five years’ experience as an Executive/Administrative Assistant. Will provide specialized administrative support to the CEO. Must be organized and detail oriented.  Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Must be able to work effectively with all levels of staff (internally and externally).  Must demonstrate excellent customer service mentality and display tact and diplomacy in difficult and sensitive situations. Will be required to perform confidential, time-sensitive work assignments for the CEO, senior staff and the Board of Directors.  Must be able to prepare reports, various correspondences, coordinate programs and projects applicable to the organization, and/or the department using established practices and protocols.  Will work closely with other key staff members and serve as a liaison to the Board. Will plan and coordinate communications, meetings, travel arrangements, and scheduling for the CEO, Board of Directors and senior staff as needed. Must have ability to recognize errors, create computerized databases and spreadsheets. Will be responsible for maintaining corporate files. Will serve as relief receptionist.

Must be able to sit for an extended period. Must operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other office equipment regularly. Must be able to regularly lift and carry objects weighing up to 10 pounds, occasionally objects over 10 pounds. Must regularly bend, stoop, and reach with arms.  Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to interact with executive staff, employees, members and community.  Must recognize matters of confidential nature and keep them confidential. Must work overtime when necessary including evenings, weekends, holidays, and during emergencies.  Must be able to travel overnight and participate in designated training programs.  Must maintain good attendance and punctuality record.  Successful candidate must live within a 30-minute drive to JPEC and possess a valid driver’s license.

Purchasing Agent

Seeking a purchasing agent to join our team. Position manages the operations of the warehouse. Position purchases and/or assists in purchasing materials, supplies, vehicles, equipment and other items as needed including material returns, warranty claims, shipping problems, or other purchasing-related problems. Maintains and regularly reports on inventory levels. Maintains records of purchase orders, material test reports, back orders, materials catalogs, and PCB records for the cooperative. Maintains records of the cooperative vendors and is responsible for recommending changes based on regular reviews. Oversees contract cleaning crews, maintenance of buildings and grounds.

Candidate should possess the following:

  • Associates degree in Supply Chain Management, Warehouse Management, Logistics or a related field.
  • A minimum of two years of purchasing and inventory experience is required.
  • Proficient use of a computerized inventory management system is preferred.
  • Three years relevant experience performing Supply Chain Management, Warehouse Management, Logistics or related may substitute for education requirements.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid forklift operator certification.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain HAZWOPER certification.

Candidate must be able to carry out the following:

  • Must be able to carry out instructions, meet work schedules, and exchange work information as necessary to expedite workflow.
  • Must be able to operate a computer keyboard and mouse daily.
  • Must have good communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to interact effectively with employees, members, and general public.
  • While performing duties of this job, the employee may occasionally work in outside weather conditions.
  • Must have the ability to lift, on average, 80 pounds. Must have the ability to push, pull and/or drag by hand approximately 250 lbs. Must be able to push or pull up to 5000 pounds with use of a pallet jack.
  • Must be able to climb a ladder while supporting weighted objects.
  • Must recognize matters of a confidential nature and keep them confidential.
  • Participates in local, out-of-town, and overnight meetings as required and in designated training programs.
  • Ability to work non-standards hours and/or extended hours after normal shifts during major storms and outages.
  • Must maintain good attendance and punctuality record.

Successful candidate will be required to live within a 30-minute drive to JPEC.
