The company was organized in 1937 and the first lines were energized in 1938. Jackson Purchase Energy currently owns and maintains more than 3,000 miles of line and 27 step-down sub-stations.
District One: Livingston County (North of the Cumberland River)
District Two: Livingston County (South of the Cumberland River)
District Three: Marshall County
District Four: Graves, Carlisle and Ballard Counties (All area served by JPEC in Carlisle County, and south of Highway 286 in Ballard County)
District Five: Ballard County (All area served by JPEC in Ballard County North of Highway 286)
District Six: McCracken County (West and North)
District Seven: McCracken County (West and South)
District Eight: McCracken County (Excluding the City of Paducah)
